How to Choose Robes for a Spa, Salon or Boutique Hotel
Partager
The robe is one of the first things a guest handles at a spa or boutique hotel, and one of the things they remember. Choosing the right one comes down to a few practical decisions: fabric, sizing, colour, style and how the robes will be washed. This guide goes through each.
We supply our organic cotton waffle robe to businesses as well as individuals. It's made from 100% organic Indian cotton, certified to the Organic Cotton Standard (OCS).
Fabric and weight
Waffle weave is lighter than terry and dries faster, which helps when robes are going through the laundry between guests. Ours is 400 gsm, so it feels substantial and absorbs well without being bulky. The cotton is hypoallergenic, which is worth knowing if you have guests with sensitive skin. Organic cotton is also something many guests notice and appreciate, particularly at a spa.
Sizing
The cut is generous and unisex, so one robe works for guests of any gender. That means you're choosing sizes, not separate men's and women's ranges. We offer small, medium and large.

Colour
Snow White is the best choice for pools, hot tubs and anywhere guests are in treated water, because dyed fabrics can fade or look uneven with frequent exposure. It's also the classic spa look.
Sand Beige and Mountain Gray (a deep anthracite) hide marks better and suit a more contemporary interior. Plum Blossom Pink, our signature blush, works well for a salon or boutique with a softer look.
Style
Classic is the everyday option for most guest rooms and treatment areas.
Piped has contrast piping along the edges, which gives it a more polished look for a premium room or suite.
Hooded has an attached hood and suits cooler climates or outdoor hot tubs. It comes in Snow White, Sand Beige and Mountain Gray.
All three have large waist-level pockets, which guests find useful.
Washing and care
The robe can shrink by up to 8%, so wash before first use and plan your sizing with that in mind. Wash at 40 degrees. Do not bleach. Avoid tumble dry. Wash with similar colours.
