How to Choose a Robe as a Gift

A robe is one of the easier gifts to get right. Most people own one that's worn out or too thin, and a good one gets used every day. The harder part is choosing the details when you can't just ask: the style, the colour and the size. This guide goes through each one so you can order with confidence.

Our organic cotton waffle robe is made from 100% organic Indian cotton in a waffle weave. At 400 gsm it's absorbent without being bulky, and it has large waist-level pockets and a roomy unisex cut. It comes in three styles and four colours.

Choose the style

Classic is the simplest and the safest choice if you don't know the person's taste well.

Piped has contrast piping along the edges, which gives it a more finished look. It suits someone who likes things polished. It comes in Snow White, Sand Beige and Mountain Gray.

Hooded has an attached hood for extra warmth. It's a good pick for anyone who's always cold, or who spends cold mornings wrapped up with a book. It comes in Snow White, Sand Beige and Mountain Gray.

Choose the colour

Plum Blossom Pink is our signature colour, a soft, warm blush. It's the most obvious gift colour, though it isn't available in the hooded style.

Snow White is clean and classic. It's also the best choice for someone who'll wear it near a pool or spa, since dyed fabrics can fade with treated water.

Sand Beige is a warm neutral that suits most homes.

Mountain Gray is a deep anthracite gray, nearly black. It's a good choice for someone who wouldn't pick a pastel.

If you're not sure, Snow White or Sand Beige is the safest pick.

Get the size right

Sizing is the usual worry with a gift. The cut is generous and unisex, so it's forgiving. Match the person's usual dress size or shirt size to the chart below.

The robe can shrink by up to 8% in the wash, and we cut it with that in mind.  

Matching robes for two

Two robes make a good gift for a couple, an anniversary or a wedding, or for the two of you. Add more than one robe to your cart and the discount, up to 20%, is applied at checkout. You can match the colours or mix them, for example one Plum Blossom Pink and one Mountain Gray.

Wrap it

You can add gift wrapping with a handwritten note to your order, and we'll write your message by hand. Just enter it in the Notes with your order and we'll take care of the rest.

If you'd rather let them choose, a gift card is an option.
